# Copy to Dropbox

Drive Downloader can copy your selection straight into your **Dropbox**, without downloading anything to your computer.

## Before you start

Link your Dropbox once on the [Integrations](/docs/drive-downloader/using-drive-downloader/integrations) page. Personal Dropbox accounts are supported; team folders are not.

## How to copy

1. Start a **New export** and complete **What to export** and **File formats** as usual.
2. In **Save to**, choose **Dropbox**. The linked account is shown with its free space.
3. Click **Start copy**.

Files are copied into **Dropbox › Apps › Drive Tools**, with their folders recreated. The copy runs in the background, so you can close the tab. We email you when it is done.

## Google Docs, Sheets and Slides

Dropbox cannot hold Google files, so they arrive in the formats chosen in step 2. See [Google File Formats](/docs/drive-downloader/using-drive-downloader/file-formats).

## Files with the same name

A file whose name is already taken in the folder is saved with a number added, for example `report (1).pdf`. Existing files are never replaced.

## Not enough space

Before the copy starts, Drive Downloader compares its size with your free Dropbox space. If it may not fit, you see **This copy may not fit** with **Start anyway** or **Back to options**. If Dropbox fills up during the copy, it stops; files already copied stay.

## What Drive Downloader can access

In Dropbox, Drive Downloader can only use its own folder, **Apps › Drive Tools**. It cannot see anything else.

Copied files count toward your plan the same way as downloads.
