# Download Your Files

When **Save to** is **Download**, how you get the files depends on the size of the export.

## Under 2 GB: straight to your computer

The zip downloads to your computer as soon as it is ready.

1. When the export page says it is ready, click **Download zip**.
2. **Keep the tab open** until your browser finishes the download. Closing the tab stops it.

The zip goes to your browser's download folder. Drive Downloader keeps no copy of it.

## 2 GB or more: download page

Large exports are prepared in the background as **2 GB zip files**, so you can close the tab.

1. We email you when the export is ready, with a link to its download page. You can also open it from **History**.
2. Click **Download** next to each file. Each link is created when you click, so it always works while the export is kept.
3. A single file larger than 2 GB is added as it is, not zipped.

:::caution
The files on the download page are **permanently deleted 24 hours** after the export finishes. Download them before then.

## The manifest

Every export includes `manifest.csv`. It lists each file with its path, type, size, owner and the format it was exported to, whether it was exported, and the reason if it was not.

## Progress and cancelling

The export page shows the size read from Google Drive as it moves. Large files can take a while, so the file count may pause on them.

**Cancel** stops the export and deletes any partial files. Files already exported still count toward your plan.
