What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit/debit cards and use Stripe as our payment processor.
What happens if I downgrade from a premium plan to the free plan?
If you downgrade to the free plan, you’ll be limited to 10 GPT calls per day. To avoid losing access to previous AI-generated content or exceeding the limit, we recommend converting all GPT formulas to static text. Simply open the relevant Sheet and go to Optimising GPT Mate > Convert GPT Formulas to Static Text > All Cells. This locks in the AI responses and prevents additional calls from being made.
Can I transfer my subscription or Lifetime license to another Google account?
No, subscriptions are linked to the Google account for which the license key was redeemed and cannot be transferred. We may, however, evaluate your request on a case-by-case basis. You can request by emailing support@8apps.co
I’m a student. Can I get a discount?

When can I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the account settings. If you face problems, you can reach out to us at support@8apps.co with your details.
How can I upgrade to a paid plan?
You can upgrade directly within the add-on's settings or through our website.
Why do I need a paid plan for GPT Mate?
GPT Mate for Sheets gives you 10 free calls per day to explore the tool. To go beyond that, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan from 8apps.
In addition, GPT Mate requires you to connect your own API key from OpenAI or Google Gemini - even during the free trial. This ensures your data stays private, and usage is billed directly by the AI provider based on their pricing.
Do I need an API key to use GPT Mate, and how do I set it up?
Yes - GPT Mate requires you to bring your own API key from either OpenAI or Google Gemini. This keeps your usage transparent and under your control. You can get your key from OpenAI here or Google Gemini here. Once you have it, simply paste it into the GPT Mate sidebar under settings.
Are there any hidden charges or token-based pricing?
No. 8apps does not charge you based on usage. You pay a flat subscription fee for the add-on, and what your AI provider bills you for API usage.
What happens after I make a payment?
Once your payment is successful, you’ll receive a license key via email. To activate your upgrade, open the add-on and go to the Plans page, then simply enter your license key. Your existing settings and tasks will remain intact, and there’s no need to reinstall anything.
