Freeze Results
The Freeze Results feature allows you to replace live hash formulas with their final hashed values. This helps optimise your use of credits (in the free version) or reduce API calls in Premium workflows.
Freezing results is especially useful when:
- You’ve finished processing a dataset
- You want to lock values before sharing a file
- You’re working with large sheets and want better performance
How to Use Freeze Results
- In your Google Sheet™, go to: Extensions > Hash Data > Open App
- A dialog box will appear. Go to the Home tab.
- Choose one of the available options:
- Replace ALL: Converts all =HASH(), =HASHEMAIL(), and =HASHPHONE() formulas in the sheet into static hashed values
- Replace Selection: Converts only the selected cells
Replace Formulas Manually
- Select the cells that contain the formulas.
- Press Ctrl+C and copy them
- Paste the copied results by pressing Ctrl+Shift+V
- Formulas within the manually selected cells are now replaced by their respective results.
Why Freeze Results?
- Save Credits: Free plan users are limited to 100 hash calls per day, freezing results helps avoid unnecessary recalculations.
- Improve Speed: Large spreadsheets run faster without live formulas.
- Share Securely: Locked values make it easier to share spreadsheets without exposing formulas.
warning
This action is irreversible. Once formulas are replaced with static values, they cannot be undone using the app.
