We make Drive Guard for Admins. Every price here was read from the vendor's public page on 9 September 2026; where a vendor publishes no price, we say so.
The question that sent you to the pricing page
Someone asked you a narrow question. "Which of our files are public?" or "Who outside the company can still open the finance folder?" You went looking for a tool, landed on GAT Labs, and found a platform that does that and a great deal more – Gmail, Calendar, Chrome, offboarding, alerts – with a price to match.
This page is for the admin working out whether they need the whole platform or just the Drive answer. Both are legitimate choices. The honest comparison depends on what you were actually asked.
What GAT Labs is
GAT Labs sells a suite, licensed in tiers. Read from gatlabs.com/pricing on 9 September 2026:
- GAT+ – auditing, management and security across Google Workspace: Gmail, Drive, Calendar, apps, with alerting. This is the audit engine.
- Unlock – a multi-party approval system for admin actions such as file access, permission changes and bulk security tasks. This is where remediation lives, and it requires GAT+.
- Flow – onboarding, offboarding and user-change automation. Requires Unlock.
- Shield and Shield+ – Chrome browser DLP and continuous identity verification.
The tiers stack these: Essential €16 per user per year (GAT+ only), Essential+ €20 (adds Unlock), Admin €24 (adds Flow), Secure €34 (adds Shield), Sentinel €48 (adds Shield+). GAT states it bills in US dollars for US and Canada residents and in euros for everyone else. Yearly billing is the cheaper route – the page advertises up to 17% off against monthly.
Two commercial terms matter for a small domain. There is a €800 minimum annual charge per domain for small domains, and the subscription must cover all active users – it cannot be bought for admins only. The trial is 15 days and covers GAT+ and Shield; Unlock and Flow are not available during the trial.
Choose GAT Labs if…
- You want one platform for the whole Workspace. If the same audit has to cover Gmail forwarding rules, Calendar sharing and third-party apps as well as Drive, GAT+ does that in one place and one login.
- You want alerts. GAT+ is built around ongoing alerting. Drive Guard for Admins does not send alerts; you open the dashboard when you want to look.
- You want to fix things from inside the tool today. Unlock lets an admin change permissions and run bulk security tasks, with approval workflows. Our remediation is on the roadmap, not live.
- You want offboarding automation. Flow exists for exactly that. We do not do lifecycle work at all.
- You have the budget and the headcount. On a domain of a few hundred users the €800 minimum is irrelevant and the per-user price buys a lot of tooling.
If three or more of those describe you, GAT Labs is the right answer and this page has done its job.
What Drive Guard for Admins is
Drive Guard for Admins is one Google Workspace Marketplace add-on, installed once by a Workspace admin and deployed to every user in the organisation. Nobody installs anything themselves.
It scans every user's My Drive and every Shared Drive and puts public links, external shares and legacy access on one dashboard, with exports. You can control which users it is deployed to and manage org-wide settings.
That is the whole product. It does not touch Gmail or Calendar. It does not alert. Today it reports and the admin fixes; revoking public links and external access from inside the tool is coming soon. The audit cadence is yours, and the quarterly rhythm we suggest in the access audit checklist is a good default.
The price is US$4.80 per user per year – launch pricing against a US$8.80 list price. Organisations with more than 100 users get a discount. Education institutes get it free by writing to support@8apps.co. The trial is 7 days, credit card required, and everything is unlocked during the trial except downloading the raw data – so you see the real dashboard against your real domain before you pay.

Choose Drive Guard for Admins if…
- The question you were asked is about Drive, and only Drive. Public links, files shared outside the domain, access left behind by people and partners who have moved on.
- You want one number on the invoice. For a 60-user domain that is 60 × $4.80 = $288 a year. For 20 users it is $96. GAT Essential for the same 60 users is 60 × €16 = €960; for 20 users the €800 domain minimum applies.
- You want to see the dashboard before you buy. The 7-day trial runs against your real domain.
- You are happy to do the fixing yourself in Drive or the Admin console for now, working from the exported list.
- You run a school or college. Free, on request.
What neither tool replaces
Both sit on top of Google's own controls, not instead of them. External sharing settings live under Apps → Google Workspace → Drive and Docs → Sharing settings, and the Admin console can list shared drives with no members or no managers.
