Best Time for a US–Europe Daily Standup

US and European teams enjoy a reasonably generous overlap window. Here's how to pick a standup time that doesn't feel punishing for either side.

Scheduling Tips

1

For EST↔CET, 9–11 am ET (3–5 pm CET) is the sweet spot — early enough for the US, late enough for Europe.

2

Avoid scheduling before 3 pm CET; European colleagues will already be closing down for the day.

3

San Francisco teams on PST need to join at 6–8 am to match European business hours.

4

The EU observes DST about 2 weeks earlier than the US — watch for that gap in spring.

Use the Color-Coded Planner to Find Your Window

The Timezone Meeting Planner shows a visual 24-hour grid where each hour is color-coded:

9 am – 6 pm local time. The ideal window for meetings. 7–9 am and 6–10 pm. Possible but not ideal. Outside working hours or weekends. Avoid unless necessary.
