Scheduling Meetings Between the US and Latin America

The US and Latin America share more time zone overlap than most international pairings — but the details matter. Brazil's time zone is tricky, and DST changes don't sync with North America.

Scheduling Tips

1

New York to São Paulo is just 1–2 hours (BRT = UTC-3) — the best overlap in LatAm.

2

Mexico City (CST, UTC-6) is only 1 hour behind New York ET — nearly identical business hours.

3

Bogotá (COT, UTC-5) has no DST, so the gap stays fixed at 0 hours from ET all year.

4

Brazil's DST runs November–March (Southern Hemisphere summer), creating a floating gap with the US — always double-check in those months.

5

Buenos Aires (ART, UTC-3) also observes no DST, giving a predictable 2-hour gap from ET year-round.

Use the Color-Coded Planner to Find Your Window

The Timezone Meeting Planner shows a visual 24-hour grid where each hour is color-coded:

9 am – 6 pm local time. The ideal window for meetings. 7–9 am and 6–10 pm. Possible but not ideal. Outside working hours or weekends. Avoid unless necessary.
