Scheduling Between the US and Canada
Most US–Canada calls are trivially easy — the same time zones apply. But coast-to-coast US↔Canada calls and cross-DST edge cases still trip people up.
Scheduling Tips
Toronto and New York share the Eastern time zone — there is zero gap. Schedule exactly as you would for a US domestic call.
Vancouver (PT) is 3 hours behind Toronto (ET) — 9 am ET = 6 am PT. West Coast Canada follows the same rhythm as Seattle/SF.
Canada and the US transition DST on the same dates in spring (second Sunday of March) and fall (first Sunday of November).
Quebec observes ET but much of rural Saskatchewan (and parts of British Columbia) does not observe DST — a rare edge case to watch for.
For US–Canada cross-coast calls (e.g., New York to Vancouver), apply the same 3-hour rule as any US ET↔PT call.
