Managing API Keys

GPT Mate allows you to use your own OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Anthropic Claude API keys for private and scalable access.

How to Add or Update API Keys

Open a Google Sheet.
Go to Extensions > GPT Mate for Sheets > Settings.
Under the API Keys section:
- Enter your OpenAI API key if using OpenAI models. See how to get your OpenAI API key.
- Enter your Gemini API key if using Gemini models. See how to get your Gemini API key.
Click Save after adding your keys.

Note

Make sure your API keys are active and have quota available.
GPT Mate will automatically detect which key to use based on the model you select.
You can update your keys anytime if you generate a new key.
