Drive Guard is personal: each person installs it and audits their own Drive. Drive Guard for Admins is for the whole organisation: one Workspace admin installs it for every user, scans across all their Drives, and manages everything from a separate admin space – with its own pricing.

How do I install it for my whole organisation?

Open the Drive Guard listing on the Google Workspace Marketplace signed in as an admin and choose the admin install. That deploys it to every user in your organisation in one action.

Do my users have to do anything?

Accepted Answer

No. The admin install deploys Drive Guard for them, and your org-wide audits run from the admin space with no per-user setup – they are silent as far as your users are concerned. Users do see Drive Guard in their Google Sheets Extensions menu, where they can audit their own Drive if they want to.

Can I fix a bad permission from the tool?

Not yet. Today Drive Guard for Admins finds and reports public links, external shares and legacy access; revoking them directly from the tool is coming soon.

Currently US$4.80 per user per year – launch pricing, against a regular price of US$8.80 – billed annually, and cheaper per seat as you grow: users 101–200 are 10% off, 201–300 are 20% off, 301–400 are 30% off, 401–500 are 40% off, and every user from 501 up is 50% off. You start with a 7-day trial (credit card required) – everything is unlocked during the trial except downloading the raw data. Use the calculator on the product page to see your annual bill.

Is there a discount for larger organisations?

Yes, and it applies automatically. Your first 100 users are list price (US$4.80 each). Users 101–200 are 10% off, 201–300 are 20% off, 301–400 are 30% off, 401–500 are 40% off, and every user from 501 onwards is 50% off. The discount applies to the additional users, not the base tier, so 500 users cost US$1,920 a year rather than US$2,400.

We're a school or university – what does it cost?

Nothing. If your Google Workspace domain ends in .edu, Drive Guard for Admins is free straight away – just install it. Any other school, college or university: write to support@8apps.co from your institution's domain and we'll set up free access for you.

Question 9

What happens if our number of users changes during the year?

Accepted Answer

If your user count goes up, the new users are charged pro rata for the rest of your billing term, at the rate their discount band earns. If your user count goes down, your bill stays the same until the next annual renewal – there's no mid-term refund or credit.
